Minekey delivers over 3 million Received Opinions to the users every day. We received requests from several users to improve the grouping of Received Opinions. Grouping items at such a volume required an improvement in the core architecture of Minekey application.

We are glad to announce that we have implemented the new architecture successfully and we will be rolling out the improved version of Received Opinions shortly. Since, the new architecture is likely to be subjected to huge load levels – we will be rolling this out first on Minekey website followed by Minekey Facebook version. We plan to roll out the improved Received Opinions Management on Minekey.com later today. Subject to resolving any initial issues we plan to roll it out on Minekey Facebook version tomorrow.

The improvised version of Received Opinions will have opinions shared by multiple people grouped as a single item to help users view and respond to their Received Opinions quickly. Further, we have segmented the Received Opinions into folders to easily view the Opinions created and shared by your Friends and Following.

We are hopeful that the improved Received Opinions Management will help you interact with the received content much more efficiently, thereby enabling you to express and share more content on Minekey.

Minekey Extends its Discussion Community on Leading Social Networks to its Website to Reach Broader Audience

SUNNYVALE, CA – Sep 8, 2008 – Minekey, the Leading Discussion Community on Facebook, today launched its destination website to extend its reach to a broader audience. Minekey’s discussion network now spans across its own website and the five leading social networks – Facebook, MySpace, Friendster, Hi5 and Orkut.

To date, over 1.8 million users have participated in discussions on the Minekey network and have expressed over one million opinions, cast 40 million votes and written over seven million comments. Minekey is rated as the most addictive application on Facebook by many users and is among the top 100 social applications in activity and engagement. Minekey ranks among the top five applications in Politics, top 10 in Chat and top three applications with a high percentage of women users.

“Social networks are not very effective at connecting people outside their immediate social circles”, says Delip Andra Minekey’s Founder & CEO. “Minekey expands the social universe by helping users connect with people from all over the world through conversations”.

One great example of how Minekey makes this kind of social connection possible is the story of Samantha Sten, an ardent user from Sweden, and Antonis Konstantoudakis, another passionate user from Greece, who met on Minekey, and will soon get married. Antonis says “Minekey encourages discussion about a wide variety of subjects, while remaining surprisingly fun. Minekey makes the whole world closer, and much smaller. The experience has changed my life.” Says Samantha, “I’ve made more friends and intellectual companions in a few weeks of using Minekey than I had all the time I used Facebook without it. On Minekey, I met the love of my life, and so have many others.”

Since Minekey launched in late 2007, many of you have told us that you would like a dedicated website for Minekey, outside of social networks. We’ve listened to your suggestions intently, spent long hours brainstorming and planning … and today we’re proud to let you know that we will be launching a Minekey website next week. (Register for a preview at www.minekey.com).

Given how popular the application is on social networks, we will continue to host and develop Minekey on Facebook and the other networks. In fact, you will be able to access and interact with all of the opinions, comments and other members’ activity from any of those networks and the website, at any time. Many of you will prefer to use the website, but for those of you who prefer Minekey on Facebook, MySpace, Friendster, hi5 or Orkut – you can continue using the app there, as ever before.

Regardless of which instance of Minekey you are using, you will always be able to access all your content. Further, we are dedicated to preserving the integrity of the experience to which you are accustomed, and are working hard to ensure that whichever version of Minekey you are using, the experience will be the same.

The new website will address certain limitations which many of you have brought to our attention. For one, you will be able set-up your own personal URL for your Minekey profile (for instance, johnsmith.minekey.com, or sandra.minekey.com), which will then serve as a destination for your Minekey activity which can then be directly accessed by anyone. Also, we are exploring the possibility giving you the capability to attach photos and videos to comments.

Please share the word with friends and other Minekey members. We will invite people to use the service in three stages. Firstly, it will be available to those of you who sign up for the preview by entering your email address at www.minekey.com. Next, existing users of the app on social networks will be invited. And lastly, anyone will be able to join. Signing up on the website now will definitely increase your chance of getting the URL of your choice, as they will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

In line with our vision to be the leading destination for online discussions, we are very excited to announce two new features in our Facebook application which will take discussion and conversation to a totally new level!

You can now have discussions within an Opinion, so that you able to reply to specific comments and carry on a threaded discussion. Also when other users reply to your comments, you will get a notification and activity update so you will be able better track your discussions across multiple opinions.

You can also view conversations between two people who are communicating using their notes under My Activity > Notes. And if the your are viewing your own conversation, you will be able to easily write a note to the other user directly on that page. Making notes an even stronger communication channel between two users.

These features we hope will help and let users share their passion more easily on Minekey and with each other!

We’ve launched a new version of iThink on MySpace that we are excited about. The release includes a completely revamped look, faster load times, a people page that ranks users based on different types of activities: most followers, most opinions, voted most, and commented most. And it’s now easier for you to ask your friends if they agree / disagree with any opinion by sending them a message from within the application.

Visit our MySpace application to see all the improvements!
